This October marks the 12th National Youth Science Day, an annual event where kids get to learn about STEM topics (science, technology, engineering and math) by participating in a hands-on STEM challenge.
I am passionate about both science and 4-H, and had the honor of helping co-develop the 2015 NYSD experiment. In partnership with OSU Extension and Vernier Software & Technology, we developed “Motion Commotion” which examines physics in the context of distracted driving.
Check out this year’s experiment and the archive of past experiments on the NYSD website: 4-h.org/NYSD
